Sheep Products

Sheep need a balanced diet in order to maintain health and condition. This includes ewes, as well as growing and finishing lambs. Forage alone does not provide all the nutrients necessary for optimum performance. That’s why Renaissance offers quality products for sheep – products that can help ensure your sheep are getting the nutrition they need… when they need it!

Based on research, Renaissance has developed unique products that can impact your sheep rations, whether your sheep are kept for breeding and showing, or raised as market lambs. It is important to follow all directions when feeding any products for sheep, in order to optimize their effectiveness on your flock. These products do not contain added copper, which can be toxic to sheep if consumed in excessive amounts.

Designed as supplements for all feeding systems, these excellent premixes provide the necessary vitamins and minerals that can help your sheep year-round. Furthermore, they are ideal when pastures and forages are poor quality, or as ewes approach lambing. Supplementing a sheep diet is important. While many flocks do not receive any nutritional supplementation, it is nonetheless critically important to help meet their daily nutrient requirements. This can help to ensure they perform up to their genetic potential, while maintaining body condition and health. Quality nutrition makes a difference! SHEEP PRODUCTS

This is a high-quality premix that can be fed free-choice or mixed in grain rations. It is formulated to provide essential vitamins and minerals required by sheep (no added copper), and is ideal for gestation and lactation rations; and/or feeding thinner ewes before and during breeding to improve ovulation rates in poor-conditioned ewes (flushing).  Ewes in good condition typically do not need the additional nutrition at this time. SHEPHERDS PRIDE should be added to a ration about four weeks prior to lambing, regardless of roughage quality. This will provide for the increased nutritional needs of the ewe and developing lambs, and help prevent lambing disease (ketosis).

Here is an excellent premix for use in both creep feed and finishing lamb rations, providing high levels of nutrients needed for rapid growth/efficient gains. It contains no added copper, but is formulated to give adequate selenium and vitamin E, which can aid in the prevention white muscle disease. The product also contains Bovatec®, to aid in the prevention of coccidiosis. Ask your Renaissance consultant for information and inclusion rates when preparing creep feed or grow-finish rations for lambs. Creep feeding is an ideal method for providing supplemental feed to lambs during the nursing period, and is essential for intensive production systems. Provide good quality alfalfa hay and access to fresh, clean water along with creep feed at all times. Growing and finishing lambs should be fed a grain mix daily that contains LAMBS PRIDE B, along with free choice hay or pasture. We also recommend that you vaccinate lambs before starting them on full feed, to help in the prevention of enterotoxemia (overeating disease). Give your sheep the best, and appreciate results from breeding and lambing to grow-out.
